“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” [1 Thessalonians 5:16-17]. Pray continually… Prayer is one of our greatest pursuits and the heart of our church. We are a praying people. There are more informal, impromptu stealth prayer missions going on here, there and everywhere among our people throughout the week than organised corporate prayer more formally each week. We are intentional about building effective prayer lives. We are deliberate in encouraging our church to be people of prayer. Our prayer ministry has many facets and includes a Friday morning weekly prayer, worship and communion meeting. We have a heart for the House and a heart for the Kingdom. We pray for our church and we pray for the Kingdom of Heaven to touch the lives of those in our community and across the earth. With Christians from churches all over the coast meeting each Friday, we pray passionately with a spirit of thankfulness for one another’s needs and for all the local churches. We maintain a strong culture of prayer in our daily lives with prayer a foundational pillar of the church. Prayer is something we believe every Christian can do and every Christian is called to. The Bible tells us that the effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much [James 5:16], and that we are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus [2 Corinthians 5:21]. We are all learning and growing in prayer. We create opportunities for prayer! Random, spontaneous prayer missions with friends and others in our church family is the heartbeat of our fellowship and our happy place. Prayer works. We dig it.
