The interface where heaven meets earth
Comfort and peace are found in His Presence. Stillness and soul satisfaction. His Presence is where we change. We love worshipping the Lord. Worship is about declaring the sovereignty of God over every circumstance in every season of life. It is about His presence in our lives in a tangible, transformational way. We believe worship is a way of life and far more than some songs on a Sunday. For us, worship is about cultivating a personal revelation of fearless adoration and fierce devotion to the Lord. The tenets of our worship ministry are declaration, proclamation, adoration, exultation and destination. Our desire is to use the gifts God has given us creatively and musically to help pave the way for you to encounter Him. He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him [Hebrews 11:6]. We have discovered that worship is more about the heart of the worshipper than the talent of the musician, the mood of the worship service, the expertise of the tech crew or the volume of the music. Our team seeks to provide an atmosphere that is conducive to worship, but it’s more than atmosphere. Worship is not something we can manipulate or control like the temperature setting on an air conditioner. It’s not about musical talent either. While talent and gifting inspire and help, the quality of the musicians or music itself does not prevent or compel worship. It’s a matter of the heart.
In Creative Arts and Worship, we value…
We value character over talent and a heart of worship above gifting. We also value:
A Culture of Prayer
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you”. We pray. A lot.
A lifestyle of Worship
Psalm 29:2, 1 Chronicles 16:29 “Give to the Lord the glory due His name; Bring an offering, and come before Him. Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness!”
Diversity as a Strength
1 Corinthians 12 ”There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. The manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all…But now indeed there are many members, yet one body…” We complement one another in our diversity.
Psalm 133 “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity!.. There God commands blessing” We pursue unity.
Freedom of Expression
Galatians 5:1 – It is for freedom Christ has set us free… “Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.” We seek to embrace creativity and the full spectrum of the creative arts in our expression of worship. Creativity is God’s absolute nature and He has made us in His image with a capacity and desire to express and create.
The Heart of the House is Key
Songlists and rosters come and go. The heart of the House is key. Authentic relationships and community matters. Our love and commitment to one another in life matters. Our diligence in our gifting matters. Our devotion to personal worship matters. Our commitment to unity matters. And our passion and resolve to nurture a spirit of worship that declares the sovereignty of God above all is what matters most.
God’s House is a Sanctuary
It is a privilege and honour to serve Him in the building and stewardship of the church; the one thing Jesus said He would build [Matthew 16:18]. We believe the House of God is a haven for humanity, a holy place where we both delight in the Lord and worship Him with reverence and fear. We have a heart to build His House in such a way that it is warm and welcoming, a sanctuary and haven, somewhere people dance with freedom and great joy before their Saviour yet a place of deep respect and serenity where we reverently worship God and bow our knee humbly before Him in silence and wonder. God’s House is a safe place where restoration takes place, we are made whole and we learn to overcome.
God’s House is a beautiful place //Resplendent // Glorious // Beautiful //
Beauty is the essence of God. Consider the detail and beauty of intelligent design we see all around us in creation. Nature is resplendent with unparalleled beauty. In every facet of space and time, God is all glorious, unparalleled. “He has made everything beautiful in its time” [Ecclesiastes 3:11]. Beauty can be simple, rustic, opulent, subtle. Regardless of its expression, we believe because God is the creator of beauty, His House should be the most beautiful environment on earth; a glimpse of the Creator and eternity, the gateway. We believe God’s House is the rightful heart and home of creative human endeavour and expression.
The Church is a Sanctuary
a sacred place, the most sacred place, a place of refuge, literally sanctum sanctorum (Latin for the Holy of Holies). A hideaway; a room or other place where one can seek refuge from his everyday concerns; a haven or sanctuary. This we seek to give expression to and build.
Exodus 25:8 And let them make Me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them.
